In early September 2024, it was announced that the 2nd season of Shangri-La Frontier’s Opening Song would be performed by LiSA and titled “QUEEN”. Unlike the lucky people who have already heard the song at the Osaka / Nagoya live concerts so far, I have only heard parts of the chorus from the above official anime trailer.

Just from the trailer snippet of the song, it already exudes immense energy. I wouldn’t call it unique, since anime songs tend to be high tempo, but just the chorus itself appears to be quite catchy. It also makes full use of LiSA’s powerful vocals to likely make it another head-banging, UO-glowstick-spinning song at her live concerts. I totally can’t wait to watch it live myself this December! Of course, before that, likely she will perform it on TV during the singles sales launch which I expect will be in line with the anime start on 13th October 2024 (and probably the physical media to drop in November 2024 (my guess)) so do look out for it.

The visuals, especially the hairstyle, seems distinctly different from her usual style, so that is something new to look forward to as well. With the song title “QUEEN” and the kind of “royalty” hairstyle, I wouldn’t be overly surprised if it would somehow change to blonde or brunette hair colour too. Which hair colour do you think would fit the single cover image the most?

Just a side note, I personally love the songs「ハルシネイト」and 「洗脳」which are B-sides from the two singles too, so do check out her non-anime songs as well and you might be surprised.
